The Location
If you’re looking for a destination that will take your breath away and leave you with memories to last a lifetime then look no further than Pakistan. The journey from Islamabad airport to the K2 base camp is about two hours by car. We drove past the snow-capped mountains of Nathia Gali and through the lush valleys of Swat before arriving at one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen: Donga Gali. Nestled in this valley is our hotel, Hotel Amore.
The Rooms
One of the most luxurious hotels in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The rooms are fully furnished and have a large selection of books to choose from. There is also a TV with cable connection, an internet connection, and clean bathrooms with hot water available 24 hours a day. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves delicious food that is made fresh every morning by their head chef who has over 30 years of experience in the hotel industry!
Plus there is an outdoor swimming pool which is open all year round for guests to enjoy. This hotel does have it all!
The Service
Hotel Amore is a small hotel in the beautiful and historic town of Donga Gali. This is one of the most popular places to visit in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The resort has a beautiful view of the mountains and the community that lives there.
Hotel Amore offers travelers many amenities during their stays such as an outdoor pool, a restaurant with live music, free WiFi, and gym facilities. All rooms have modern furnishings and are decorated with natural elements like stone walls and wooden furniture.
The hotel also has three types of accommodation to choose from: standard room which comes with two twin beds or one king bed; junior suite which comes with one king bed; or family suite which includes two king beds or three twin beds.
The Food
The hotel has an in-house chef and a restaurant that offers a wide variety of food. The breakfast buffet is served from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, the lunch buffet from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and the dinner buffet from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The breakfast dishes include a variety of bread, Indian dishes like chappatis with vegetable curry or lentils, scrambled eggs, and bacon or ham as well as fruits. Lunch offers delicious options like Lebanese pita bread stuffed with vegetables or chicken with rice or chicken tikka masala. Dinner features delicious Pakistani fare with lamb curry paired nicely with chickpeas cooked in cream sauce and raisins.
The meals are all beautifully presented while being surprisingly affordable.
