What do you mean by Sorptive processes?
In India, Dürr Air Pollution Control Solution provides certified solutions to control emissions by using adsorption and absorption technologies.
Purified air is released from the system when through a medium, the exhaust air dissolves pollutants effectively and the pollutant enters the medium. Both the adsorption and absorption procedures are distinguished on the basis of their functioning.
By highly efficient distillation, Sorptive systems are able to recover solvents. The two types of Sorptive processes are: –
1.Adsorption process
The adsorption process concentrates the pollutants. This process is required when the exhaust air comprises a low to medium pollutant concentration. The pollutants are extracted from the air and concentrated in the adsorbent when they form a physical bond with the adsorbent. Activated carbons and zeolite materials are majorly used as adsorbents.
2.Absorption process
When a substance dissolves with another substance, it is known as the Absorption process. The pollutants cleaned in the process are generally gaseous, whereas the absorbing medium is a liquid in most cases, but can also be a solid substance.
In Gas scrubbing process, undesirable by-products of combustion or exhaust gas pollutants like chemicals such as ammonia, halogens and their acids and sulphur oxides are separated from exhaust gases or exhaust air. This process works on the principle of the oxidation process and precedes it a few times. DürrAir Pollution Control Solution in India delivers a wide range of acid gas removal technologies featuring spray dryer absorbers, dry sorbent injection, wet acid gas absorbers and wet scrubbers.
Dürr Megtec’sSorpt.X AC Evaporative Gas Cooling and Conditioning systems improve air pollution control performance, safeguard downstream equipment, improves production capacity and lower gas volumes. This product was previously known as SoniCool.
Benefits of Sorpt.X AC
Sorpt.X NT (formerly Turbotak™) atomizing nozzles are a key component of Dürr Megtec’sSorpt.X AC evaporative gas cooling and conditioning systems. They help in lowering or maintaining the gas temperature by releasing a controlled amount of finely atomized water into the hot gas stream. When the water begins evaporating while simultaneously absorbing heat from the gases, there is minimal or no wall buildup, liquid is released and free-flowing dust discharges.
Functions of Sorpt.X AC Evaporative Gas Cooling and Conditioning
·Controls humidity levels of hot process gases and provides its accurate temperature
·Enhances performance with the help of ESPs and particulate conditioning upstream of baghouses
·By minimizing gas velocity and volumes, there is a rise in production of plants
·Safeguards air pollution control equipment and process from any kind of heat or spark damage
Application of Sorpt.X AC
In hundreds of installations, Sorpt.X AC evaporative gas cooling and conditioning systems provide a certified design that are used in furnace exhaust gases, kilns and incinerators. Prior to baghouse filtration, they are cooled down, which assists in reduction of volume of exhaust gas to be purified, thereby preserving the pulse or baghouse jet fabric filter.
New retrofits, upgrades and installations to existing systems and other services like controls, spray nozzles, gas cooling tower fabrication and pumps are provided with the help of Dürr Megtec.
Technical specifications of Sorpt.X AC
Sorpt.X NT nozzles (previously known by the names SoniCore™ and Turbotak™) aid in atomizing liquids to fine (5 µm to 60 µm SMD) droplets. These nozzles have a two-phase proprietary design that bestows spray distribution and superior control of droplet size.
As the air-atomized nozzles are a combination of rugged construction, distribution pattern and small droplets, they become an ideal choice to be used in a wide array of applications, involving dust suppression, spray drying, evaporative gas cooling and conditioning, combustion and incineration, performance enhancement of air pollution control systems, as well as wet and semi-dry scrubbing.
