Self-confidence is a thing that makes you prominent. Self-confidence is a very important part of our life. Self-confidence is very helpful to improve your performance. If a person has self-confidence he can perform anything, anywhere and if a person has no self-confidence he cannot perform anything exactly. A person having no self-confidence has many effects on his life. Along with self-confidence self-esteem and self-efficacy are also needed and are very important. They are also very important and useful in our life.
Self-confidence makes a man successful in his life. Develop self-confidence in your child since his/her childhood. There are many ways and things which are very useful to develop self-confidence in a child. People having different ages have different sources to develop self-confidence. For children, animals are the best source to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. Because children follow animals more than others. For this purpose, we have play cards for children named Animal Affirmation Cards. We design these cards for children. These are very helpful and useful for children to establish self-confidence and self-esteem in them. For example
- I am courageous like the lion.
- I am independent like the tiger.
- I am nurturing like the penguin.
- I am compassionate like the elephant.
- I am joyful like the hummingbird. –LittleLuminaries
“With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.” – The Dalai Lama
There are many methods and ways to improve and develop self-confidence and self-esteem in us. Some of them we discuss here.
1. By Exercise:
There is a simple way to improve or establish self-confidence and self-esteem in your child is by exercising daily and regularly. By exercising you will not get better physically also you will feel more active, relaxed, motivated and confident.
Exercise releases your stress and make you think in a positive way. These things make you more confident and build self-confidence and self-esteem.
2. Be helpful for others:
Another way to improve yourself or establish self-confidence is being helpful to others. In this way, people realize you and support you, and memorize you in good words. The feeling of how people think about you also makes you confident and establishes self-confidence and self-esteem. However, self-confidence and self-esteem is core feature that lies in being valued by others.
3. Take Risks and Make Mistakes:
Feeling inferior to others or feeling that others are happier, active, beautiful, etc. is due to a lack of confidence. So, first of all, don’t consider yourself inferior. Also take risks for your goal and make mistakes because we learn more from our mistakes than books. We complete our goal by working hard and by facing our weaknesses.
When you move out of your comfort zone and try something new, you are enlarging your own limitations. When you are successful to complete something new that is out of your comfort zone, you are building confidence in yourself.
4. Choose your Goals:
First of all, we want to set our goals and then move forward by working on that goals. Working on personal meaningful goals is the framing upon which self-confidence is built. In Flourish Seligman proposes PERMA, a five-factor framework for well-being in which “A” stands for accomplishment.
A system known as the S.M.A.R.T goals system is a guideline for setting our goals in which goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. This system is based on research that suggests that these goals lead to greater achievement (Locke 1968).
