High rank, big bucks: The high-ranking T20I stars who had a good payday at the IPL 2023 auction

After paying INR 4.6 crores, the South African superstar eventually joined David Warner, Rishabh Pant, and Anrich Nortje in Delhi.

In the crucial Super 12 match against Sri Lanka, he took 1/16 in his four overs to win Player of the Match. In the semi-final match against India, he finished with 1/20 from his four overs, including the important wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.

Zampa was selected by Rajasthan Royals for his base price of INR 1.5 crores at the IPL Auction’s expedited round.

Since 2018, the Australian leg-spinner has been in the top 10 of the ICC T20I Bowling rankings and has recently emerged as one of Australia’s greatest bowlers in the game.

Zampa finished with five wickets and a 6.66 economy rate to tie for the joint-highest wicket total for Australia in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

With 17 wickets at an average of 23.88, he has taken the second-most T20I wickets for Australia this year.

Sam Curran, the Player of the Tournament in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, brought in the highest price in IPL Auction history when he was sold to the Punjab Kings for 18.5 crores.

The English all-rounder finished as the second-highest finisher after winning Player of the Match in the T20 World Cup final against Pakistan.

Raza Sikandar

Purchased by Punjab Kings for a base price of INR 50 lakhs at auction

#4 for all-rounders in the ICC T20I Rankings

Sikandar Raza was hired by the Punjab Kings for his basic salary of INR 50 lakhs, giving him his first IPL job. The all-rounder from Zimbabwe has had an outstanding year in Twenty20 Internationals, moving up to No. 4 in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20 Rankings for all-rounders.

Raza had an outstanding T20 World Cup in Australia, when he led Zimbabwe in runs scored and wickets taken.

Overall in 2022, Raza’s aggressive batting in this format and his bowling, which was remodelled with Sunil Narine’s assistance, garnered attention.

With 735 runs in T20Is at an average of 35 and a strike rate of over 150, Raza finishes 2022. His best performance of the year, though, came with the ball when his three wickets and brilliant run out helped Zimbabwe defeat Pakistan by one run in the T20 World Cup.

#6 for all-rounders in the ICC T20I Rankings

With almost 300 runs scored and 17 wickets taken with the ball in T20Is over the past two years, the 37-year-old all-rounder from Namibia has excelled.

The hard-hitting all-rounder became the first player from Namibia to be recruited by a team at the IPL Auction when Kolkata Knight Riders purchased him for his base fee.

Wiese was selected by Kolkata because of his ferocious late-order hitting and bowling, making him one of the select few players from an Associate nation.
