How to install the Google Play Store on Windows 11

Please note that this procedure is only supported on x86, 64-bit, or ARM-based devices before continuing. Whether you’re not sure if you’re using 64-bit or 32-bit hardware, you may verify by going to Settings > System > about and looking at the ‘System type’ option there.

  7. In the next window, choose “Continue” to grant authority as an administrator.
  8. Just click on the little magnifying glass that sits to the right of the Start button, and then enter “PowerShell” into it. Choose “Run as Administrator” from the drop-down menu and then confirm the modifications by clicking “Yes.”
  9. In the new window that opens, paste the following code next to where it reads “PS C: WINDOWSsystem32>” cd C:\ WSA-GApps-pico 2204.40000.20.0 x64 Release-Nightly
  10. If you want to copy and paste the following, press enter after each line. Use the command: “Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -Execution Policy Bypass” to change the execution policy for a specific process.
  11. Press the key, then type “A” and press the key again.
  12. When you’re ready, just cut and paste the code below:
  13. Install.
  14. ps1

However, a notification stating “VirtWifi has no internet connectivity” may have been shown. You can’t use the Play Store until you enable it, but Windows Firewall won’t let you. It’s not recommended to disable the firewall entirely, however in this case it’s okay to do so.

  1. A successful procedure notification should appear within a few seconds. After everything is completed, the Play Store will launch without any more action on your part.
  2. Type “advanced security” into the search bar that appears next to the Start menu, and then launch “Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.”
  3. To access the Windows Defender Firewall settings, choose “Windows Defender Firewall Properties” from the “Overview” submenu.
  4. Select “Customize…” under “Protected network connections.”
  5. The Ethernet (WSL) option must be deselected before clicking OK may be used.

The Play Store should now function normally. If you have a Google account, all you have to do is launch the app and sign in. All are compatible with Windows 11’s multitasking capabilities and may be pinned to the taskbar, however some will perform better than others.

There was a tip from a reader that the Amazon Appstore may be deleted accidentally. You can use both the Microsoft Store and the Google Play Store concurrently, so reinstalling the programme from Microsoft should cure the problem.
